Carillion is based in Leeds (off the Elland Road) and is one of the UK's largest construction and facilities management companies with a turnover of £1.6billion.
It is also involved in environmental services, project investment and property. It has worked hard with the government and other contractors in the development of Private Finance Initiatives (PFI).
The company has developed a PFI strategy, which includes, social housing and primary and secondary schools. Carillion currently work in Leeds to deliver the Leeds City Council Schools PFI project to build and refurbish seven schools in Leeds.
Other clients include 15 local authorities, Boots Ltd, Marks & Spencer and Sanctuary Housing Association on behalf of Castle Vale Housing Action Trust.
