The Consortium Members

Yorkshire Housing is registered with the Housing Corporation as a social landlord. In Leeds it provides and manages affordable homes via its local member association, Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing.
With an office in Briggate in the centre of Leeds, Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing provides excellent housing management services to over 5000 households.
We are committed to our mission to provide innovative and customer focused housing services and contribute to the development and maintenance of sustainable communities in Yorkshire.
We are concerned with communities not just houses and have worked hard with our partner agencies and residents in Grimethorpe, The Manor, Sheffield and Bierley in Bradford to help address the many problems these areas face. This means engaging with issues of job creation, educational attainment and health as well as the condition of homes.

As a Swarcliffe customer you will find that on a day to day basis you will be mostly dealing with Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing as we take care of the repairs to your home and the upkeep of many parts of the estate.
We have therefore provided an insight into the services that we will offer.
The Repairs Service
Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing will provide a comprehensive range of high quality maintenance services which will address the immediate, medium and long term repair requirement for the customers of the Swarcliffe PFI.
Customer care is central to our aim of providing this high quality repairs service. You will find that the quickest and most efficient method of reporting a repair is through our Repairs Helpdesk. Our dedicated advisors, with professional back up support from the Neighbourhood Office based maintenance staff, will take your call and book a repair appointment.
Only approved contractors will be employed to carry out repair and maintenance work and will be required to demonstrate a high level of customer service.
Cleaning Service
A Cleaning Service will be provided to communal areas in lowrise flats, Sherburn Court and Elmet Towers. This service will operate daily (Monday to Friday) and cleaners will perform a number of daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
On Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays a reactive cleaning service will be provided. We will respond to and deal with incidents that are urgent and where it is not reasonable to leave the cleaning until the next scheduled cleaning day.
Grounds and Maintenance Service
A Ground and maintenance service will be provided to areas inside the boundaries of the PFI contract. This service includes maintaining trees, shrubs and hedges in communal areas. However Leeds City Council will still be carrying out grass cutting throughout the estate.
Estate Environment
As well as the repairs service, there are many other services we are committed to provide and problem area to address. These include:- Abandoned Vehicles
- Unauthorised Parking
- Maintenance of becks and culverts
- Pest Control
- Removal of Graffiti
- Removal of dumped rubbish
- Removal of discarded needles and smashed glass.
- Support within the PFI Modernisation project.
The greatest interest in the Swarcliffe scheme has focused on the improvements to existing council housing. We have now opened our Show Home so people can see the improvements Council customers will receive to their home. We have recruited Tenant Liaison Advisors who are based at the Show Home. They will be getting to know customers, discussing individual choices for kitchens and bathrooms and guiding customers through the whole modernisation process to ensure they have a smooth and hassle-free experience.
Further Information
Yorkshire Metropolitan has introduced a 'Repairs Booklet' and 'Tenant Handbook' which will be given to all tenants explaining the services we provide in full.
